Museum of Illusions, the world's largest growing museum chain, will open its second California location in Santa Monica this fall, bringing more than 80 interactive exhibits to the Third Street Promenade.
The 12,000-square-foot museum at 1232 3rd Street will feature eye-catching installations, mind-twisting illusions, interactive rooms and 3D holograms designed to challenge perception and spark curiosity. The Santa Monica location will unveil exclusive exhibits inspired by the city's film industry ties, California Art Deco style and beach culture.
"We are thrilled to launch the Museum of Illusions in Santa Monica and contribute to the vibrant cultural landscape of the greater Los Angeles area," said Kim Schaefer, CEO of Museum of Illusions. "With its iconic beachfront, eclectic arts scene, and proximity to world-renowned entertainment hubs, Santa Monica is an ideal setting for our growing collection of immersive, interactive museums."
The museum opened its first California location in San Diego earlier this year. The Santa Monica facility marks another step in the company's West Coast expansion across four continents in 26 countries with nearly 70 locations worldwide.
Designed for all ages, the museum teaches visitors about vision, perception, the human brain and science, helping them understand why eyes see things the brain cannot comprehend. The exhibits combine art, education and entertainment in one immersive experience.
Museum of Illusions Santa Monica will operate Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with final admission one hour before closing.
The venue offers group outings, special events, team-building activities and field trips that can be pre-booked online. Visitors can stay updated on grand opening details, promotions and special events at www.moisantamonica.com.
Museum of Illusions is part of the global Museum of Illusions Group, the largest and fastest-growing chain of private museums worldwide. The concept offers interactive experiences where exhibits play tricks on visitors' minds while demonstrating the science behind illusions.
