On March 12, at approximately 8:48 a.m.
Officers responded to a radio call for service at the Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd., regarding a violation of a stay-away order and battery on a City employee. Officers were able to confirm the subject spat on two City employees and had an active stay-away order from the surrounding area. After spitting on the first employee, the subject took a fighting stance and continued to become increasingly verbally aggressive, prompting staff to retreat. Upon SMPD’s arrival, the subject was taken into custody without incident. Timothy John Hollis was arrested for violating a stay away order. Hollis remains in police custody.
