On September 12, at about 3:22 p.m.
Officers responded to a radio call for service at the Santa Monica Pier Carousel regarding an intoxicated subject that was bleeding from the hand after punching a window. The subject walked to the Santa Monica Pier Police Substation asking for medical treatment.
Santa Monica Fire Department Paramedics responded to treat the subject. Officers noticed the subject displayed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol.
Officers located the broken window of the Carousel building. The suspect admitted to punching the window. John S. Shockley, 38, from Los Angeles was issued a citation for vandalism and public intoxication.
