The Pacific Park Ferris wheel will feature 90-foot-tall ghosts, vampires and brightly colored sugar skulls for Halloween and Día de los Muertos from Monday, Oct. 27 through Sunday, Nov. 2.
The Pacific Wheel will display orange and red lights, patterns, emojis and more during the celebration period. Pacific Park will offer free entry to its new Funhouse on Halloween, Friday, Oct. 31, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests need only go to the Funhouse entrance for free admission.
The Pacific Wheel is the world's only solar-powered Ferris wheel featuring 174,000 LED lights mounted on the wheel's 40 spokes and two hubs. The lighting system features 16.7 million color value combinations while programming and display software presents imaging up to 24 frames per second for dynamic, custom, computer-generated lighting entertainment.
The eco-friendly LED lighting provides 81% greater energy savings than traditional incandescent bulbs used on most Ferris wheels.
The Ferris wheel soars nine stories high and lifts riders more than 130 feet above the Pacific Ocean, offering extraordinary views of the Southern California coastline from its Santa Monica Pier location.
The Ferris wheel light show runs from sunset (approximately 6:05 p.m.) to 12:30 a.m.
