The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close one lane of southbound traffic on Pacific Coast Highway from the California Incline to the Santa Monica Pier to clear storm drains of mud, sand and gravel.
Work will occur Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Traffic delays could occur.
Apparently, concrete was poured into the storm drains by an unknown entity, according to a statement from Caltrans.
A Caltrans storm water robot camera crew will inspect the drains after they are cleared to assess the extent of damage. A contractor will be hired to clear the concrete.
