According to the Santa Monica Police Department, at approximately 5:30am on Monday April 1, officers were dispatched to Ocean Ave and Colorado Ave for a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the location and is actively cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Regrettably, the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. Identification of the victim is pending at this time.
An SMAlert regarding the street closure was sent out to subscribers at 5:31am that said, "Due to a traffic collision, the intersection of Ocean and Colorado will be closed in all directions until further notice. Use alternate routes."
The "all clear" confirmation was sent at 10:57am.
