Pedestrian killed in Downtown car crash

The pedestrian hit at a downtown Santa Monica intersection has died from their injuries.

According to SMPD, officers responded to the intersection of 4th and Colorado at about 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15 for a report of a car vs. pedestrian accident.

Officers arrived within moments and located a man in the roadway with significant injuries. The Santa Monica Fire Department responded and transported the individual to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and has been fully cooperative with the investigation. At this time, there are no indications of drug impairment.
