Join the City of Malibu’s Poet Laureate Ann Buxie for two complimentary Poetry Workshops for Adults, Caffeinated Verse and The Write Time. The workshops offer community members engaging, educational opportunities to find expression through poetry with a renowned local poet.
Caffeinated Verse Workshops includes a featured reader, followed by an open mic format for poets to share their work. During The Write Time workshops, the Poet Laureate will provide prompts and examples to explore different forms of poetry and encourage new works.
Caffeinated Verse takes place on Saturday, September 18 and Saturday, November 20. The Write Time takes place on Saturday, October 16 and Saturday, December 4. All workshops begin at 11:00 AM. For location details and to RSVP, visit www.MalibuCity.org/Poetry.
The City of Malibu’s Poetry Workshops are organized by the Malibu Poet Laureate Committee and supported by the Malibu Arts Commission. On August 23, 2021, Ann Buxie was named the City’s fourth Poet Laureate by the Malibu City Council.
