The Santa Monica Red Cross’ “Red Tie Affair” held at the Fairmont-Miramar Hotel on Saturday raised roughly $375,000, according to preliminary estimates.
Officials with the local chapter of the Red Cross said a number of celebrities attended, including singer Fergie and her husband, actor Josh Duhamel, who received the Red Cross Spirit Award for helping raise money for Haitian and Japanese earthquake relief efforts.
Actress Betty White was the recipient of the American Red Cross “Crystal Cross Award” for her contributions to animal welfare.
