A two-car collision caused by a red-light violation jammed up traffic in the area of 4th and Olympic Tuesday afternoon.

First responders arrived at the intersection right outside of the Santa Monica Police Department station around 12:30 p.m. to assist the drivers of a Prius and sedan as Santa Monica Patrol and Traffic Services Officers worked to divert traffic in the area.

“The drivers of both vehicles declined medical treatment and SMPD personnel are working to clear the intersection,” Crime Prevention Coordinator Myesha Morrison said at 1 p.m. Tuesday. “We anticipate normal traffic to resume shortly.”
