*By Josh Epstein Santa Monica*

Bill Bauer hit the nail on the head with his commentary (”City showing bias against singles,” page 4, April 30) regarding our City Council's hypocritical reaction to the proposal to build over 1,000 new units that comply with the City's strict development standards. Santa Monica needs affordable housing and if a private developer is willing to build it, Santa Monica should embrace the proposal! Save our public funds for fixing the homeless problem! I encourage other residents who feel similarly to speak up.
