Rize Credit Union announced $1,000 in direct financial relief for approximately 450 families impacted by the Southern California wildfires through a partnership with the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles.

The funds will be distributed via no-cost debit accounts to help families cover housing expenses, utilities, groceries and other essential costs during their ongoing recovery. The initiative extends to wildfire survivor families identified by the LA Y and existing Rize members affected by the fires.

The announcement came at a community event where the California Community Foundation and the LA Y also distributed $1,000 gift cards and additional recovery support to affected families.

"Wildfire recovery lasts long after the fires are extinguished, and we see the financial strain it causes people in our community," said Jennifer Oliver, president and CEO of Rize Credit Union. "Through our ongoing partnership with the LA Y, we're able to provide practical, direct support that families can use in the ways that matter most to them."

Victor Dominguez, president and CEO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, said the organization sees firsthand how deeply the wildfires have impacted families across Los Angeles.

"Through our partnership with Rize Credit Union, we are able to support these families with a meaningful financial offer as they continue to recover from this devastating natural disaster," Dominguez said.

The initiative supports Rize's mission to empower individuals, families and communities on their path to lasting financial security. The credit union describes the relief effort as an example of "Beyond Banking" — showing up when communities need support most.
