SAMOHI — Another season, another perfect Ocean League record.

Santa Monica High School’s softball team defeated rival Culver City, 10-0,  in a game called after five innings due to the mercy rule on Thursday on campus.

The Vikings, 10-0 in league, already clinched their 10th-straight league crown heading into the game, but the win secured a perfect record for Samohi.

The CIF-Southern Section Division 4 champs have to wait until Sunday to see who and where they will play in the first round of the playoffs. While being a league winner gives the team a good chance of hosting a first round game, it is no guarantee, said a spokesman for the CIF-SS.

Pacifica Christian wins league

Pacifica Christian’s baseball team secured its first ever Heritage League title with a 4-0 win over Faith Baptist on Thursday.

The team now awaits the release of the CIF-SS playoff brackets on Sunday.
