With the Expo Line set to open on May 20, Metro officials are expanding rail safety education along the newly constructed light-rail line.
Authorities want locals to learn how to safely cross the tracks and recognize the various safety elements in place, such as traffic signals, crossing gates, warning lights, signs and curb reflectors.
In addition, safety ambassadors are on hand to provide in-person guidance at the Santa Monica stations. The safety ambassadors are retired rail operators fully trained in safety rules.
