Santa Monica College will honor military veterans with four free events during Veterans Awareness Week in early November, all held on the main campus at 1900 Pico Blvd.
The week begins Monday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Veterans Success Center with "Flags for Heroes," where flags will be available while supplies last to honor veterans.
A Veterans Day Ceremony will take place Thursday, Nov. 6, at 11:15 a.m. in the SMC Quad, followed by two events on Monday, Nov. 10.
The "Heroes Breakfast" starts at 9 a.m. in the Veterans Success Center, offering a meal and conversation opportunities for military-affiliated students returning to education. Later that day at 11:15 a.m., the center will host "Therapy Dogs, PUP Program," featuring friendly dogs for stress relief and comfort.
The Veterans Success Center is located in the Cayton Center, Lower Level, Room 006. All events are first-come, first-served seating.
