PHOENIX, Ariz. — The third time was a charm for Santa Monica High School's girls' basketball team as the Vikings routed St. Mary's from Ontario Canada, 76-43, on Tuesday.

The win was the first for the Vikings during the prestigious Nike Tournament of Champions in three games. St. Mary's is considered one of the better teams in Canada.

"We monster-sized them," Head Coach Marty Verdugo said. "We played the best game of our lives."

The Vikings were led by sophomore Briana Harris, who scored 18 points after tallying just 5 points through the previous two games at the tournament.

The win improves Samohi to 10-2 this season.

Next for Samohi is a matchup against Bishop O'Dowd to end the tournament on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.
