Every other Thursday this summer, the Santa Monica History Museum will be hosting a series of guest lectures via Zoom.

The program will feature presenters on a variety of topics related to the history of the Santa Monica Bay area. Filled with a diverse array of subject matter, we’re proud to announce that the series will include:

June 4 - California’s Role in Women’s Suffrage with Sara Crown

June 11 – Japanese American Internment with Ted Tanaka

June 25 - How they built Westwood with Richard Orton

July 9 – Pacific Ocean Park Pier with Chris Merritt & Dominic Priore

July 23 – The Santa Monica Pier with Jim Harris

August 6 – African American Leisure spaces with Alison R. Jefferson

August 20 - Women in the News - The hard-hitting women who reported the news in LA in the 30s and 40s with Larry Balmagia

The lectures are free but attendees are encouraged to make a donation of their choosing to help support museum operations during the COVID- 19 shutdown.
