# Santa monica is a community that takes up the fight against cancer

*SURVIVORS ARE THE REASON.*

Opening Ceremonies begin on Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. and the Survivor's Lap begins at 9:30 a.m. in celebration of their victory, because cancer never sleeps. This lap demonstrates the importance and reason for Relay For Life celebrations. If you are a survivor, mark your calendar to participate in this heart warming first lap. Special T-shirts and a reception hosted by Shutters On The Beach and Casa Del Mar will be provided to all cancer survivors at this event.
