The Santa Monica Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect in connection with an assault that took place near 5th Street.
The suspect is described as male, black or other, approximately 25-35 years old, with bleached blonde hair, a black beard and tattoos on both biceps and forearms. He is not believed to be homeless.
The individual, shown in the video below, is wanted in connection with an assault that occurred on Sunday, September 22 at approximately 12:35am near the 1400 block of 5th Court, between Broadway and Santa Monica Blvd. He was last seen fleeing the area eastbound on Santa Monica Blvd towards 7th Street.
According to the SMPD, detectives are actively investigating the incident and have exhausted other methods of identifying the suspect. Anyone who recognizes the individual in the video is asked to contact Detective Sean Baker or call the Watch Commander (24 hours) at (310) 458-8427.
"We want to remind residents that any information, no matter how small could help get this person into custody and bring justice to the victim," the SMPD said in statement.
