# Santa Monica remembers the September 11 attacks

The Santa Monica Police and Fire Departments gathered with residents and city officials on Saturday to commemorate September 11, 2001\. The event included a flyby from LAFD helicopters, speeches by officials and the tolling of the bell for the fallen.

Mayor Sue Himmelrich

James Hanlon, retired FDNY

SMFD Chaplain Josh Young

SMFD Honor Guard Commander Robert Otani.
