SM COURTHOUSE — The suit, tie and shirt that O.J. Simpson wore on the day he was acquitted of murder have been acquired by the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

The clothing donation was announced Tuesday, ending a lengthy court dispute involving the former football star, Fred Goldman and Simpson’s former manager who had the suit.

The suit had first been offered to the Smithsonian Institution last month, but the museum said it was not appropriate for its collection.

The Newseum said in a press release it will be added to a collection of artifacts related to the coverage of Simpson’s trial. He wore the suit on Oct. 3, 1995, during his televised acquittal of the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
