The Santa Monica College Music Department will continue its Spring 2026 Friday Night Jazz Series with a performance by world-renowned drummer Carl Allen on Friday, April 3, at 7 p.m. in the Music Hall at the SMC Performing Arts Center, 1310 11th St. at Santa Monica Boulevard.
Allen has more than 200 recordings to his name and has performed with jazz luminaries including Freddie Hubbard, Michael Brecker, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Branford Marsalis, Kenny Garrett, and Terence Blanchard, among many others.
The series opened March 6 with saxophonist Bob Reynolds and will close May 1 with pianist and composer Theo Saunders.
Tickets are $10 general admission, plus a modest service charge, and free for all students with a valid student ID. Advance tickets are available at smc.edu/tickets. Tickets may also be purchased at The Broad Stage Box Office beginning 45 minutes before the performance. Parking is free. Seating is first-arrival. The latest details are at smc.edu/events.
