Santa Monica College's Global Motion World Dance Company will present its fall 2025 performance featuring dances from around the world Nov. 8-9 at The Eli & Edythe Broad Stage.

Both performances begin at 7:30 p.m. at the SMC Performing Arts Center, 1310 11th Street at Santa Monica Boulevard. Students will showcase traditional and contemporary world dance styles including West African, Flamenco, Ballet, Asian, Hawaiian, Mexican Folklórico and Salsa.

The performance includes work by French dancer and choreographer Jade Lelievre, an SMC alumna who earned her Associate degree in Dance at the college. Lelievre, who grew up in Paris and trained at the Conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt, moved to Los Angeles at 18 to pursue professional dance.

At SMC, Lelievre performed with both the Synapse Contemporary Dance Theater and Global Motion World Dance Company. She continues working as both a concert and commercial dancer while developing her somatic healing practice.

Global Motion was founded over 50 years ago by former SMC Dance Department chair Judith Douglas to bring knowledge and appreciation of diverse dance throughout the world.

The company operates under artistic direction of Raquel Ramirez and Sri Susilowati. Faculty choreographers include Laura Canellias, Keali'i Ceballos, Angela Jordan, Raquel Ramirez and Sri Susilowati. Guest choreographers are Jade Lelievre and Amayah Woodard.

Student choreographers include Lyric Limqueco, Venice West Gonzales, Sonny Lira and Mar Marroquin.
