The Santa Monica College Symphony Orchestra will collaborate with the college's Dance Department for a family-friendly performance featuring storytelling through music and movement on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m.
The concert will take place at The Eli & Edythe Broad Stage at the SMC Performing Arts Center, located at 1310 11th Street at Santa Monica Boulevard.
Mercedes Juan Musotto will conduct the orchestra, with original choreography created by SMC Dance alumni April Torres and Layla Fowler. The performance transforms the entire theater into an interactive experience, with SMC Dance students performing throughout the venue, including in aisles and balconies.
The program combines orchestral music, dance and theatrical elements designed to engage both children and adults. Organizers say the concert is suitable for first-time concertgoers and experienced music enthusiasts.
Tickets cost $15 for general admission, plus a service charge. Students with valid identification and children receive free admission. Advance tickets are available online at smc.edu/tickets or by calling 310-434-3005 during limited weekday hours.
Tickets may also be purchased at The Broad Stage Box Office beginning 45 minutes before the performance. Free parking is available on site, and seating operates on a first-arrival basis.
