Santa Monica College's Theatre Arts Department will perform a modern-dress staging of Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" Oct. 24-Nov. 2 in the Theatre Arts Studio Stage on the main campus at 1900 Pico Blvd.
Directed by Aric Martin, the production examines timeless themes of power, loyalty and public unrest through a contemporary lens, inviting audiences to consider how ambition and fear shape today's societies.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, and Saturday, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. Matinees are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26 and Nov. 2.
Pre-sale tickets range from $22-25, with SMC students and staff paying $18, plus a modest service charge. Tickets can be purchased online at smc.edu/tickets anytime or by calling 310-434-4165 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Tickets purchased on performance weekends at the Events Box Office in the Theatre Arts building cost $3 more than advance prices.
