The Santa Monica College Music Department will present the SMC Wind Ensemble in its "Instant Concert" on Sunday, June 8, at 4 p.m. at The Eli & Edythe Broad Stage at the SMC Performing Arts Center.

Under the direction of Kevin McKeown, the ensemble will perform memorable music from cinema, television, musical theater, pop and rock concerts, and video games for audiences of all ages.

"This year's Pops concert is titled 'Instant Concert' because we are putting it together in a short amount of time," said Conductor McKeown. "The concert will include an eclectic musical set that will be highly entertaining!"

The afternoon program features Ms. Darnella Davidson as guest conductor on the iconic "Fairest of the Fair" by J.P. Sousa. The concert includes music from "Ragtime," "Far and Away," and "The Goonies," plus a special medley honoring legendary band Pink Floyd.

Tickets cost $10 general admission plus a modest service charge, with free admission for all students with valid student identification. Advance tickets can be purchased online at smc.edu/tickets or by calling 310-434-3005 Monday through Friday during limited hours.

Tickets may also be purchased starting 45 minutes before the performance begins at The Broad Stage Box Office at the SMC Performing Arts Center. Free parking is available on premises, with seating strictly on a first-arrival basis.

The venue is located at 1310 11th Street at Santa Monica Boulevard. More information is available by calling the SMC Music Department at 310-434-4323. All performances are subject to change or cancellation without notice.
