Los Angeles County Chair Pro Tem and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis appointed Diego Rodrigues to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority Commission, recognizing his leadership in behavioral health and social services.
"Diego Rodrigues has consistently proven himself to be a committed and compassionate leader dedicated to serving our most vulnerable communities," Solis said. "His deep understanding of behavioral health and community services, combined with his track record of driving positive change, make him an ideal addition to the LAHSA Commission."
Rodrigues serves as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Alma Family Services, a social services provider founded in 1975. Since joining in 2008, he has expanded social services programs, implemented youth development models and led community capacity-building initiatives.
His leadership proved critical during crisis response efforts at Camp Hope, the Federal Family Reunification site at Pomona Fairplex. Rodrigues led Alma's case management team in collaboration with Solis' office, contributing to the reunification of more than 8,000 children with their families.
Since 2020, Rodrigues has served as Solis' appointee to the County's Public Health Commission. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he guided vaccination clinic efforts and essential supply delivery, strengthening partnerships with healthcare providers, schools and faith-based organizations.
"I'm profoundly grateful to Supervisor Solis for her leadership and for the honor to serve on the LAHSA Commission," Rodrigues said. "Addressing homelessness has always been close to my heart—it's about people, families, and the hope that stability and opportunity can restore."
Rodrigues holds a master's degree in clinical psychology from Azusa Pacific University and is a licensed marriage and family therapist. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in public administration and volunteers extensively with his wife, Yvette Rodrigues, in community efforts addressing homelessness, mental health and public health.
