The Soundwaves new music series will present two experimental ensembles Tuesday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Westside Music Conservatory, 12424 Wilshire Blvd. at Centinela.

Both groups on the program use multiples of the same instrument to create distinctive sonic effects.

House on Fire, a trio of pianists featuring Andrew Anderson, Wells Leng and Richard An, will give the world premiere of Leng's "for as many toy pianos and pianos as needed" and perform An's "Concerto for Ensemble." House on Fire is the 2025-26 Emerging Artist for the Piano Spheres concert series.

The Feedback Wave Riders, guitarist Michael Jon Fink's improvising ensemble, features fellow guitarists Alan S. Tofighi and Primoz Sukic alongside saxophonists Ulrich Kreiger and Vinny Golia. Fink, Kreiger and Golia all teach at the California Institute of the Arts.

A $20 donation is requested. Soundwaves, which was based at the Santa Monica Public Library from 2016 to 2024, now presents monthly events year-round at the Westside Music Conservatory.
