A months-long investigation has led to seizure of thousands of marijuana plants from three Southern California homes.
The Thousand Oaks Police Department says it learned of possible illegal pot cultivation in residences in May and served search warrants at all three locations on Wednesday.
In the meantime, detectives had to determine whether the cultivation was within the guidelines of Proposition 64, which allows adults to grow up to six plants at home for personal use.
Investigators also determined that neither the city of Thousand Oaks nor Ventura County had issued permits or licenses to anyone at the residences to grow more than six plants.
The search warrants turned up 3,200 pot plants, suspected marijuana proceeds, four rifles, two shotguns, six handguns, nine high-capacity magazines and four sets of brass knuckles.
