LOS ANGELES — St. Monica’s football team lost its Santa Fe League opener to Salesian Friday on the road, 34-7.
The loss sends St. Monica to 4-3 overall and 0-1 in league. Salesian improves to 6-2, 2-0.
Next for St. Monica is a home league game against Bell-Jeff on Saturday. That game will take place at Santa Monica College’s Corsair Field, the Mariners’ only game there this season. Bell-Jeff is 2-6 this season and coming off a 53-18 loss to St. Genevieve.
