SAMOHI — When Santa Monica High School’s girls’ basketball team takes the court this season it will be with a trio of NCAA Division 1 recruits on their side.
HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL DOWNTOWN — The Pacifica Christian High School varsity girls’ volleyball program began a new era this season when first year Seawolves head coach Billy Allen was asked to take over the team this summer.
HIGH SCHOOL CROSS-COUNTRY SAMOHI — With hopes of improving efficiency and lowering costs, the Santa Monica High School Vikings combined its boys and girls cross-country teams, consolidating their coaching staff to one head coach this season, school officials said.
INGLEWOOD — Friday’s game between Santa Monica and Inglewood high schools will be a homecoming of sorts. Head Coach Travis Clark, in his second year leading Samohi (3-2), will be pitting his Vikings against a mighty familiar foe on the road at Coleman Stadium.
XRDS — With eight games left in the regular season and a record of 10-4-1, the Crossroads High School varsity girls’ volleyball team is close to matching the number of wins they had last season with 11.
Lighthouse Christian’s football team improved its record to 3-1 with a huge win over Ribet Academy on Friday. The Lighthouse Saints are now 1-1 in Coastal League play.

SAMOHI — For the second consecutive year, Santa Monica High School’s girls’ basketball team has produced at least two players who have made verbal commitments to NCAA Division 1 schools, with a third still contemplating her options.
PLAYA DEL REY — The St. Monica Mariners dominated the eight-man powerhouse Windward Wildcats Saturday at St. Bernard High School, 42-8. 
The Mariners (4-2) recorded their first homecoming win in six years, Head Coach Larry Muno said, and kept the Wildcats (3-3) at bay throughout the night.
SAMOHI — In the final tune-up for Ocean League play, Santa Monica High School’s football team tore through Centennial of Compton, 56-13, on Friday at Corsair Field.
