MAR VISTA — Crossroads’ bid to be crowned Delphic League champs moved a step closer to reality with a convincing 10-3 win over rival Windward on Tuesday, The win puts Crossroads’ baseball team in sole possession of first place with a 3-0 league record.
SAMOHI — Seven down, three to go. Santa Monica High School’s softball team crushed Ocean League rival Beverly Hills, 16-0, on Tuesday, improving its record to a perfect 7-0 in league with just three games to play.
CLOVER PARK — In just his third start of the season, Crossroads’ Josh Flyer threw a no-hitter. The feat came last Thursday during a 10-0 Delphic League win over Kilpatrick that was called after five innings because of the mercy rule.
SAMOHI — Regardless of how it went down, it was a win for Santa Monica High School’s baseball team. Taking advantage of eight walks and a number of defensive miscues, the Samohi Vikings were able to rout Morningside, 14-5, at home on Thursday.
INGLEWOOD — Santa Monica High School’s baseball team remained in the hunt for an Ocean League title with a big 18-2 victory over Morningside on Tuesday afternoon.
NEW ROADS — A one-year absence from the playoffs has Head Coach Sean Brookes itching to return to the postseason. New Roads’ baseball coach has been with the team for 10 years with last season being the lone time his Jaguars have missed the playoffs.
SAMOHI — This season’s version of the Ocean League is a case of the haves and the have nots. Santa Monica, Culver City and Beverly Hills are log-jammed atop the standings at 3-1, while Inglewood, Hawthorne and Morningside are struggling at 1-3.
