An electrical transformer exploded near 7th and Marine Wednesday night. Witnesses reported hearing two explosions and SMFD responded to calls of power lines down in the neighborhood and a structure fire. The explosion also knocked out power in the area.
Some sections of Santa Monica were without power Monday as power companies across the state struggled to preserve service during high winds.
