With the calendar flipping to October, Santa Monica’s top two high school football units are in good positions to make playoff runs, as the Samohi Vikings (3-2) and Saint Monica Mariners (5-1) are coming off of respective Friday victories.
Though the heat is still on in Santa Monica, the transition to the fall season is already underway in school athletics, as the city’s football teams took to the field for their first Friday contests.
