I am a creature of habit. Most humans are. It’s what makes us predictable and why marketers have a fairly easy job. The consistent behavior of the buying public allows an experienced sales guy to have an advantage over the shopper, whether it be shoes or cars.
Two weeks ago I was wandering around the U.S. District Court looking for something interesting to watch. Occasionally there are some very good trials going on and I like to sit in and watch the excellent lawyering that happens in federal court.

About a week ago I received an invitation to a protest. Seems like I’m getting more invites to protests than parties this year, what with the Occupy hordes trying to get more people involved in various events.
On Fridays I have dinner with my friends Downtown. Usually we’re either at T’s Thai or P.F. Chang’s. Occasionally I can talk them into some place different, but it better be good Italian for that to happen.
We have a wealth of great cultural events in Santa Monica, from our free summer concerts on the Santa Monica Pier to free movies at Santa Monica Place, and an endless variety of gallery openings at Bergamot Station and around town.
I’m doing something differently this year by writing about Thanksgiving the week before because I want to remind people what the day is all about — really.
It was Saturday night and the young ones were ruling Downtown, as were the old ones, and a large body of tourists. I made arrangements to pick up a friend and we were heading up to Topanga for a concert.
