Officers were flagged down by security at the Vons Supermarket, 710 Broadway, regarding a theft that had just occurred. Officers learned that a subject walked into the store, took a bottle of wine off a shelf and started to drink it. The subject left the store without paying for the item. Officers located the subject outside the store and accepted a private person’s arrest. Nile Ferguson, 34, from Delano was arrested for shoplifting and public intoxication. Bail was set at $5,000.
