# There ought to be a law

Reading about the Pico bust (SMDP, Sept. 10-11, page 1), I was again amazed at the catch.

Guns, cash and drugs all at the same Pico area apartment. It seems like we need to get a new law made. Why not make it so when they get caught with guns, drugs and or drug cash that they have to be evicted from their Santa Monica digs?

This would help in at least two ways: They would be out of this area at least — attrition in action — and they would think twice about causing any harm to our fine city before they did another crime. I would like to know why we don’t have this law on the books. It could be called “Pico’s Law.”
