Dispatchers received a call from a resident in the 1400 block of Maple St. stating that a burglary was occurring at his neighbor’s home. The owner of the home also called dispatch when he was remotely alerted of movement in his driveway and saw a trespasser via his Ring camera app. Upon arrival, SMPD officers spoke to the neighbor, who provided them with a suspect description and stated that he had scared the suspect away. Officers set up a perimeter and found the suspect nearby with several miscellaneous items in a bag. Since the owner of burglarized home could not physically be there to identify stolen items, Ruby Vasquez was arrested for a 602(m)PC- Trespassing.
