The Santa Monica Pier Corporation will conclude its Wellness & Waves series with a UCLA Health Takeover on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The free community event invites guests to "Be A Kid For A Day" with physical activity, play and mental wellness activities. The event is promoted to UCLA Health's 38,000 employees and their families but open to all.

"UCLA Health is proud to bring wellness beyond our hospital walls and into the heart of the community," said Patrese Kirsch, director of Workforce Wellness and Community Engagement at UCLA Health.

Event highlights include guided runs and walks with UCLA Recreation instructors, yoga sessions with Tiffany Caronia and Jess Ray, and therapy animals from UCLA's People Animal Connection program.

Special perks include a free Playland Arcade game, basketball contests, free Merry Go-Round rides, 20% off Pacific Park unlimited ride wristbands and complimentary refreshments for yoga participants.

UCLA Health tents and the UCLA Recreation FITWELL Wellness Lounge will celebrate 100 years of UCLA Health Santa Monica Medical Center alongside the pier's 116th anniversary.

This season, Wellness & Waves welcomed nearly 3,000 guests for free wellness experiences. The series will return in April 2026 for another 26-week run.

The Santa Monica Pier is located at 200 Santa Monica Pier, Suite A, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
