Seemingly everybody wants to be a star nowadays. SOAPnet, understanding this phenomenon, has plans to launch a fourth season of its reality series “I Wanna Be A Soap Star.”

The one-hour drama developed by LMNO Productions will be holding an open casting call to find 10 contestants for the latest installment of the series.

The series captures 10 aspiring actors who will live full-time on the sets of actual soap operas. The series is hosted by Cameron Mathison of ABC’s “All My Children,” who will be at the call backs on April 1 and produced by executive producers Eric Schotz and Lisa Bourgoujian will be at the casting sessions.

Cameras roll night and day while contestants compete against each other in order to fulfill their fantasies of becoming soap stars. Working together by day, these “wannabe’s” still have to play nice after dark, as they eat, sleep and breathe the soap star life by living together on a soundstage. One by one, a panel of experts in the field of acting, casting and television production will eliminate cast members until one remains to become America’s newest soap star on NBC’s “Days of our Lives.”

Open auditions will take place Saturday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at ABC Prospect Studios located at 4151 Prospect Avenue in Los Angeles.

Prospective contestants are encouraged to go to www.iwannabeasoapstar.com to fill out an application before they arrive.
