Warby Parker opened its newest retail location on Montana Avenue on Feb. 25, bringing the eyewear company to the community.

The company hosted an opening event Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 9 to 11 a.m. at 1311B Montana Ave., offering light refreshments to attendees. The event showcased Warby Parker's Spring 2026 and New Deco collections.

The Santa Monica store features artwork by California-based artist Greg Clarke, part of the company's practice of often collaborating with artists who have a personal connection to the city or town where they are opening.

"While each location incorporates distinct, community-driven details, our signature design language remains consistent: library-inspired interiors, open-frame shelving, intimate seating areas, full-length mirrors, and custom artwork," said Sandy Gilsenan, Warby Parker's senior vice president and chief retail and customer experience officer. "We love adding those personal touches so customers feel more at home."

The opening coincided with the launch of two new eyewear collections. The Spring 2026 line pairs fan-favorite silhouettes with new designs in crystal colorways and soft, milky tones, while the New Deco Collection offers slimmer metal detailing and refined proportions.

"The Spring Collection pairs fan-favorite silhouettes with beautifully considered new designs, introduced in crystal colorways and soft, milky tones that feel distinctly of the season," Gilsenan said. "The New Deco Collection explores refined proportions and slimmer metal detailing, offering a sleek, modern interpretation of classic forms."

The new store opening comes as the company balances being a profitable, publicly traded company while staying true to its mission.

Since 2015, the company's Pupils Project has distributed more than 350,000 pairs of glasses to schoolchildren across the United States. The public-private partnership currently operates in 42 cities across nine states, providing free vision screenings, eye exams and prescription glasses to schoolchildren in areas that need it the most.

"We work with partners who administer vision screenings and eye exams at schools, while we provide prescription glasses," Gilsenan said. "We seek to partner with organizations that share our mission and values, have proven operational models, a high standard of care, an ability to scale, and are committed to making a meaningful impact for students in areas that need it the most."

Teachers are often the first to spot vision issues in children. By meeting students at school, Pupils Project eliminates barriers to access that might otherwise prevent children from receiving necessary eyecare. Students can choose from more than 100 frame styles designed by Warby Parker's team.

Warby Parker has grown into a publicly traded company while making a meaningful difference through initiatives like Pupils Project and its Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program.

"Warby Parker's mission has always been to inspire and impact the world with vision, purpose, and style, without charging a premium," Gilsenan said. "Our goal is for Warby Parker to be a community destination for both affordable eyewear and eyecare, meeting the needs of all."

The Santa Monica store is located at 1311B Montana Ave.
