With the increasing frequency and scope of fires and the ensuing smoke or carbon dioxide being wafted into Santa Monica, especially during our increasing dry spells, to remove the (downtown ficus) trees is to compound the effects of global warming. Surrounding towns will also be impacted by the removal of these trees from Santa Monica, just as we are all adversely affected by global warming.

Are most of the Council members’ brains smoked already? Would psychotherapy or Zen (mindfulness) help or do they fantasize like (President) Bush that they’re going to be “raptured up to heaven"?

Santa Monica may not win any clean air awards next time, as malicious acts like this are neither environmentally nor morally conscionable.
