Grassroots Acoustica, the socially-conscious concert series, is returning to Synergy Cafe in Culver City on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. Six musicians, some of whom are platinum-selling singer/songwriters, will stump for Project Angel Food, an organization that has provided meals for those homebound with illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, diabetes and cancer since 1989\. Among those appearing will be country music hit maker Kevin Fisher and Mark Luna, who has recorded with superstars such as Faith Hill and Bon Jovi. Beth Wimmer, Jane Bolduc, Wendy Conrad, and Synergy old-timers Mark Islam and duo Tom & Byron round out the lineup. Grassroots Acoustica is held the first Saturday of every month from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. in the listening room at Synergy Cafe and Lounge, 4437 Sepulveda Blvd., Culver City. There is no cover charge.
