The Santa Monica girls’ under-12 Extra Team beat a side from Camarillo Saturday on the strength of a golden goal in overtime to win an AYSO soccer championship.

Santa Monica advanced to the final by going undefeated in the Area 1-P playoffs, which began in January. They advanced to the sectional playoffs in Riverside where the team dispatched Chino, 4-2, to advance to the final.
