Winter shelter sites open The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority reminds the public that winter shelter site are open for persons who are homeless. There are over 1,700 winter shelter beds available in addition to the 996 all year shelter beds. The winter sites provided at designated pick-up locations throughout the County. The winter shelter site locations, pick-up point locations and times of operations are available on the Web at www.lahsa.org or call the Winter Shelter Hotline at (800) 548-6047. Community members are strongly encouraged to provide this information to homeless people in their area to prevent needless injury or death due the extreme weather conditions.
