The Buddhist community invites the entire community to join in walking for peace on Jan. 22. The peace walk will begin at 2 p.m., starting at Reed Park located at the intersection of Wilshire and Lincoln Boulevards.
The group will walk silently without banners or signs, to the beach where we they pause at “Arlington West” just north of the Santa Monica Pier to remember who have died in the Iraqi war.
The “hearts of peace” Sangha (a term for the Buddhist monastic community) plans monthly walks in different locations of greater Los Angeles.
