It’s that time of year again. The 2006 election cycle for Santa Monica residents begins with a primary election on Tuesday, June 6. It’s a time when each party selects its candidate for the general election on Nov. 7. Political observers say it’s an important year for California as many important state offices are up for grabs, including governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, controller, treasurer, attorney general, insurance commissioner and board of equalization.
The Santa Monica Democratic Club has joined with neighboring Democratic Clubs in Malibu and Pacific Palisades to sponsor a candidate forum on Sunday, April 2 at 1 p.m. at the Women’s Club, 901 Haverford in Pacific Palisades.
All Democratic candidates for the state offices have been invited to attend. Confirmed speakers include gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides.
