landmark status, PCR also reviews properties that have already been nominated for designation. When decisions by Landmarks Commissions are appealed to the council, the consultant provides an additional survey of the property.
With issues ranging from the campaign to designate ficus trees in Downtown Santa Monica to the preservation battle brewing in the Third Street Historic District, the 2007- 08 fiscal year has been a particularly busy one for PCR, whose existing $40,000 contract is close to running out of gas.
“The initial $40,000 allocated for professional services from PCR Services Corp. will not be sufficient to continue providing a consistent level and quality analysis to decision-making bodies and members of the public during the remaining four months of the fiscal year,” according to the staff report.
The additional funding will bring the contract to a total of $119,000.
