In honor of the 35th anniversary of Earth Day, the Promenade between Broadway and Santa Monica Boulevard will transform into an EcoFest April 16 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with 60 exhibits, plus a solar-powered stage featuring children-oriented programming and award-winning musicians.
Activities for kids include demonstrations of the Yo Stick, face painting and exotic wildlife.
Exhibits include Star Eco-Station’s wild animals, Whale Alliance’s model whale, Heal the Bay and Ballona Wetlands nature exhibits, plus kids will have a chance to sit in the driver’s seat of a Big Blue Bus powered by natural gas.
An estimated 15,000 people on the Promenade will see Toyota Prius and Honda hybrid vehicles, solar-energy systems, environmentally responsible investing, organic gardening, energy-efficient appliances, hemp and organic cotton clothing displays, and much more.
