Are you curious about how they meditated in the middle ages? Come find out at the labyrinth walk at First United Methodist Church of Santa Monica this Sunday, April 24.
The labyrinth is an ancient meditation tool used for centering and prayer. The one at First United is a 30’ x 30’ canvas with the labyrinth design painted on it — a replica of the one laid in the floor of the Chartres Cathedral in the middle ages.
All are invited to participate, but bring white socks to protect the labyrinth’s surface. Shoe covers are provided for those who prefer not to remove their shoes.
The labyrinth can be experienced from 10:30 a.m. to noon., with the last entry at 11:15 a.m., and from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the last entry at 3:45 p.m. First United Methodist is located at 1008 11th St., between Washington and California avenues.
